<p>American artist and musician, Tobin Sprout, was born on April 28, 1955 in Dayton, Ohio. He is best known as a longtime member of the band Guided By Voices (GBV) and as the writing partner of frontman Robert Pollard. Before achieving fame with GBV, Tobin led a band called fig.4 in the mid-eighties which included members from GBV. In 1986, Tobin joined GBV and helped transition the band from live performers to studio musicians.</p>

<p>Tobin's most recent album, "The Universe and Me," was released in 2017. He has announced that his upcoming album titled "empty horses" will be released in June 2020.</p>

Including songs from his first solo album Carnival Boy (1997) to his latest Empty Horses (2020), it also contains two remastered songs from hard-to-find compilation albums, “Cryptic Shapes” (1998) and “Small Parade” (1997), as well as piano versions of GBV favorites “14 Cheerleader Coldfront” and “Atom Eyes.”
