Bebel Gilberto

Bebel Gilberto, daughter of *João Gilberto* and *Miyuki Tanaka*, was born in New York. She began her singing career at a young age, providing backing vocals on children's albums. In the 80s, Bebel collaborated with *Cazuza* and other pop/rock artists in Brazil before releasing an EP through Warner. Moving to New York in 1991, she worked with renowned musicians such as *David Byrne*, *Kenny G*, and DJ *Suba*. Bebel's first solo album, "Tanto Tempo," released in 2000 on Ziriguiboom/Six Degrees Records, showcased her unique blend of bossa nova with fresh musical concepts.

It is worth noting that there is a common misconception that Bebel Gilberto is the daughter of *Astrud Gilberto*. However, Astrud was briefly married to Bebel's father before Bebel was born.
