Brightblack Morning Light

Brightblack Morning Light was founded in Northern California by Nathan "Nabob" Shineywater and pianist Raybob Hughes, both originally from Alabama. Despite having few recordings, they toured extensively throughout Northern California and beyond. Their debut studio album was recognized as one of Rolling Stone's Top 50 Albums of 2006.

Their live performances differed greatly from their studio recordings, with their third album being a collection of live tracks. They shared the stage with notable artists such as Os Mutantes, Vashti Bunyan, Rachel's, Papa M, Mojave 3, Hope Sandoval, and even My Bloody Valentine in 2009.

In 2010, Mr. Shineywater embarked on solo projects while continuing to tour. Brightblack Morning Light remains an influential force in the music industry.
