Buraka Som Sistema

Buraka Som Sistema is a Portuguese electronic outfit that was formed in 2006 by João Barbosa (Li'l John), Rui Pité (DJ Riot), Andro Carvalho (Conductor) and Kalaf Ângelo. Originally fronted by Petty, she was later replaced by Blaya. The name Buraka is derived from the freguesia of Buraca within the Lisbon Metropolitan Area, while Som Sistema means Sound System in Portuguese. They became synonymous with kuduro music.

With their unique blend of electronic beats and African rhythms, Buraka Som Sistema has carved out a distinctive sound that sets them apart from other artists in the industry.
