Emperor

Emperor is a black metal band from Notodden, Norway. Formed in 1991 by *Ihsahn* and *Samoth*, they were pioneers in incorporating symphonic keyboard arrangements and orchestration into their music. This unique style quickly made them one of the most influential bands in the black metal scene. Over their 10-year career, Emperor released four full-length albums, showcasing increasingly technical and complex compositions. Their musical journey reached its pinnacle with the release of the "Prometheus" album.

Although Emperor disbanded in 2001, they reunited for live performances starting in 2005 and have continued to delight fans with selected shows and small tours ever since. The current lineup includes *Ihsahn* on guitar, keyboards, and vocals; *Samoth* on guitar; and *Trym* on drums.

With a sound that pushes boundaries and defies conventions, Emperor has left an indelible mark on the black metal genre. Fans of bands like Satyricon, Carpathian Forest, Immortal, Darkthrone, and Enslaved will find themselves drawn to Emperor's powerful music.
