Junie

American producer, arranger, writer, multi-instrumentalist and vocalist. Born on January 28th 1954 in Dayton, Ohio - died on January 21st 2017 in London, UK.

In 1970, Junie joined the funk band the Ohio Players as a keyboardist and vocalist. He later became a producer and writer for the band before leaving in 1974 to pursue a solo career. During this time, he released three albums where he played all the instruments himself under the name Junie.

Junie's musical journey continued when he joined George Clinton's P-Funk (Parliament-Funkadelic) in 1977 as their musical director. He brought his unique sound to P-Funk and played a crucial role during their peak popularity from 1978 to 1980. Additionally, Junie also contributed to and produced some material for P-Funk using the pseudonym J.S. Theracon.

Recognized for his immense contributions to music, Junie was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1997.
