Mary Wells

American singer Mary Wells was a key figure in the emergence of Motown music in the early 1960s. Known as "The Queen of Motown," she quickly rose to fame and became one of the label's first superstars. Born on May 13, 1943, in Detroit, Michigan, Wells left an indelible mark on the music industry before her departure from Motown in 1964. Sadly, she passed away on July 28, 1992, at Kenneth Norris Jr. Cancer Hospital in Los Angeles, California.
