Interscope Records is a US label that was founded in 1989 by film producer Ted Field and record producer Jimmy Iovine. Originally a small alternative label, Interscope gained recognition when it joined forces with Warner Music Group in 1990. In 1992, the infamous "gangsta rap" label Death Row Records joined the Interscope family, releasing iconic albums such as Dr. Dre's *The Chronic* and Snoop Dogg's debut album *Doggystyle*.
