BMG Rights Management is a multinational label that was established as a joint venture between Bertelsmann AG and Kohlberg Kravis Roberts & Co. It operates under the name BMG Chrysalis in the USA, UK, and Sweden, following its acquisition of Chrysalis plc. In 2012, Bertelsmann bought out Kohlberg Kravis Roberts & Co.'s share of the company after an unsuccessful attempt to acquire EMI's recorded-music assets. While BMG Rights Management is the successor of the original Bertelsmann Music Group (BMG), it has undergone significant changes and now operates independently with no connection to its former incarnation.

Gainesville Florida’s Hot Water Music release their new album Light It Up. The 12-track album was self-produced, following 2012’s Exister, which was the band’s Rise debut. "The most exciting part about this record for us was self-producing and being in control from start to finish,” the band said about Light It Up. “We haven’t made a record this way since Fuel For The Hate Game.
