My Dying Bride is a British doom band that was formed in 1990. Originally starting out as a slower-than-usual death metal act, the band quickly became known for their unique blend of doom metal, incorporating elements of death and black metal. Their first recording, "Towards The Sinister," led to their debut EP "Symphonaire Infernus Et Spera Empyrium" and their first full-length album "As the Flower Withers." The success of these releases paved the way for further experimentation with different musical styles on albums like "Turn Loose The Swans" and "The Angel And The Dark River."

Despite achieving commercial success, My Dying Bride never stopped pushing boundaries and exploring new sounds. This can be heard on albums like "34.788%...Complete," which showcased their willingness to innovate within their own original style. The band has seen some lineup changes throughout its history, including replacements due to pregnancy and departures. However, this has not hindered their ability to create powerful music. Peaceville is an English label founded by Paul Halmshaw, also known as Hammy, in 1987. The label primarily focuses on metal music and has gained a reputation for its high-quality releases. In 2000, Peaceville was sold to Snapper Music but continues to thrive under their ownership.

Throughout its history, Peaceville has used various catalog number formats to distinguish different types of releases. From 1987 to 1995, the label used "VILE ### T" for 12-inch singles, maxis, and EPs; "VILE ###" for LPs; and "VILE ### P" for picture LPs. From 1987 to 2002, CD releases were labeled as "CDVILE### / VILE ### CD," while MCDs/singles/EPs were labeled as "CDMVILE### / VILE ### TCD." Limited CDs were marked with "CDXVILE###."

In later years, Peaceville introduced new catalog number formats such as "CC#" for the Collectors Club series of 7-inch records in 1993-1994.
