Since its founding in 1989, Luaka Bop has introduced artists like Os Mutantes, Shuggie Otis, Tim Maia, and William Onyeabor to the world. It has also become home to a diverse range of artists including Floating Points, Tom Zé, Javelin, Moreno Veloso, Janka Nabay, Delicate Steve and Bright Moments. Previously associated with Warner Bros, Narada/Virgin/EMI and V2; Luaka Bop has been an independent label since 2006.
