Laura Lee signed to Hot Wax records in 1971, after five R&B hits on Chess. This album is her first recording for the ex Motown producers (Holland – Dozier- Holland) newly created label. She debuted with Wedlock is Padlock reached #37 in R&B charts but it was Women’s Love Rights that become one of her biggest hits reaching #12 R&B/#36 Pop charts. Other highlights include soul ballad Her Picture Matches Mine and the dance floor filler I Don’t Want Nothing Old (But Money).
