Origin Records

Origin Records is a US label that was founded in 1997 by Seattle drummer to support jazz recordings made by significant Northwest artists. With over 650 recordings by 300 artists from around the globe, Origin Records has become one of the premier labels in the jazz world. They have been awarded JazzWeek's "2009 Label of The Year" and have expanded their catalog with two additional imprints: OA2 Records for jazz and Origin Classical for symphonic and chamber works. In addition to producing Seattle's annual Ballard Jazz Festival since 2003, Origin Records collaborates with other festivals to provide consultation on artists and programming, as well as presenting numerous concerts, series, and showcases nationally.
