Dhafer describes the album Street of Minarets as primarily centered around the theme of travelling. He explains, "After travelling to the four corners of the world, in search of new sounds, here I sing differently and use vocal effects that I grew up with." One notable vocal effect he incorporates is the sound of megaphones used for the call to prayer, which inspired the title of the record.

Throughout the album, Dhafer is joined by other guests who also contribute to the magical journey that is captured in the music.
