Genesis Live is the first live album from the English rock band Genesis, released on 1973 with the recordings of their shows at Free Trade Hall, Manchester and De Montfort Hall, Leicester in February 1973. Genesis Live was the band's first album to enter the top 10 in the UK, reaching No. 9 and all the recordings were judged to be far superior to their studio originals. Broadly, the Leicester and Manchester recordings represent the purest available document of early Genesis at their peak as a progressive dark, intricate, and ambitious theatrical ensemble. This vinyl reissue is the first after sixteen years and it is characterized by the original cover of the Italian 1973 vinyl edition.
