Miss Vincent’s lead singer and front man Alex Marshall had this to share: “In Romeo and Juliet, Romeo was originally in love with a girl called Rosaline. She is never seen, nor heard from, but her purpose as a character is still really important. She’s the reason why Romeo ends up in the same place as Juliet - and she also symbolises Romeo’s naivety and innocence that is lost to the torment of love.” Continuing to delve into the inspiration behind the single Alex mentions: “That’s what our song Rosaline is about: the loss of innocence you experience as you grow up. Looking back on the process of this loss is crushing, and I often find myself longing to somehow recapture it. We never forget that first naive love, or the creeping fear that grows as you get older.
