LA-based post-punks and Viagra Boys tourmates (and labelmates) Provoker release their sophomore album, Demon Compass, via YEAR0001. The group wrote the album after recording but before the release of their debut LP Body Jumper in 2021, with a darker, more mysterious sound. Demon Compass comes with production by Zach Fogarty and Daniel Fagerström.

The record features a highly developed mythology complete with a choose-your-own-adventure game alongside their most AAA pop cuts yet. Demon Compass finds Provoker opening up and growing between moments of desperate reality and divine realization. Though mournful in tone, it forges a path forward for the band, luring out more of the humanity in their storytelling while still protecting the cryptic, illusory imagery of their previous output.
