Description
Runrig released their breakthrough album, The Cutter and The Clan, which marked a new era for the Scottish Celtic rock band. It was their fifth full-length album and the first to feature what is now considered the classic line-up of the band.
The record was their debut for Chrysalis and brought them international success, achieving Silver status. The Cutter and The Clan includes the popular song, "An Ubhal as Airde," which was featured in a well-known Carlsberg advert.
The album has been expertly mastered by Peter Beckmann at Technology Works from the original pre-production 1/2" master, with oversight from band member Malcolm Jones.
The The Cutter and The Clan [Expanded Edition] includes a 2CD set featuring the remastered versions of The Cutter & The Clan and the live album Once In A Lifetime. The latter, originally released in 1988 and achieving Gold status, is considered one of the best live albums of its time. Its inclusion provides listeners with a glimpse into the excitement of Runrig's live performances during this period.
The album is also available on LP, with Chrysalis Records proudly presenting a remastered, printed, and pressed version entirely in Scotland, in honor of the band's Scottish heritage. This vinyl release is the first in over 35 years and has been cut at half-speed by Barry Grint at AIR Mastering. The 180gm Clear Vinyl comes in a Die-Cut Sleeve, offering fans a unique listening experience.
