Recorded in Chicago in 1960, but not released until 1965, it was the last album featuring Sun Ra original band from Chicago. Stylistically, Fate in a Pleasant Mood shows several influences, from Ellington-based compositions to lushy ballads, from screaming free jazz to 12-bar blues. A genius pot all of its own.
