Description
The Box Tops released four albums between 1967 and 1969 for Bell Records, along with bonus tracks. Featuring the 16-year-old singer Alex Chilton, the band had a worldwide hit with ‘The Letter’. Other successful songs include ‘Neon Rainbow’, ‘Cry Like A Baby’, and ‘Soul Deep’.
By early 1970, the band was disillusioned by their lack of financial success and decided to split. Alex Chilton went on to form Big Star, which received critical acclaim. Despite occasional reunions, the Box Tops disbanded permanently after Chilton's premature death in 2010.
This collection is digitally remastered and slipcased, with extensive new notes included.
