Amon Amarth

Amon Amarth is a Swedish band that started out as a grindcore band in 1989. Originally named *Scum*, the band underwent several changes before settling on their current lineup and name. With members Olavi Mikkonen, Ted Lundström, Anders Hansson, Nico Mehra, and Johan Hegg, Amon Amarth's musical style shifted towards Death/Viking Metal.

Their name, taken from Tolkien's "Lord of the Rings" trilogy, means the mighty mountain of doom. Drawing inspiration from Norse mythology and Viking history, Amon Amarth has become known for their powerful and epic sound.
