Craig David

Craig David is a soulful vocalist hailing from Southampton, Hampshire, England. He played a pivotal role in shaping the UK garage sound with his early releases and has since transitioned towards a standard RNB style. Born to a Grenadian father and an English Jewish mother, David's diverse background influences his music.

David's musical journey began when he accompanied his father, who played bass in a reggae band called Ebony Rockers, to local dance clubs as a teenager. It was during these outings that DJs gave him the opportunity to take the microphone.

His breakthrough came when he collaborated on "Re-Rewind," a track from Artful Dodger's album "It's All About the Stragglers." The song reached Number 2 on the UK charts in 1999 and paved the way for David's solo career. At just 18 years old, his debut single "Fill Me In" made him the youngest solo male artist ever to reach Number 1 in the United Kingdom. This success continued with four Top 10 singles from his debut album "Born To Do It," which sold over seven million units worldwide and achieved multi-platinum status in more than 20 countries.
