Stray Cats

The Stray Cats are a rockabilly band that was formed in 1979 by guitarist/vocalist Brian Setzer with his school friends Lee Rocker and Slim Jim Phantom. Originally from Long Island, New York, the group drew inspiration from the sounds of Sun Records artists from the 1950s and were heavily influenced by Bill Haley & His Comets. Despite facing initial challenges in the New York music scene, they eventually found success in England during the nascent rockabilly revival. Throughout the early 1980s, The Stray Cats produced several hit singles both in the U.K. and the U.S.

If you enjoy music from The Stray Cats, you may also like other similar artists such as Lee Rocker, Brian Setzer, or even their respective projects like The Brian Setzer Orchestra. Additionally, you might find interest in bands like Hillbilly Hellcats, Batmobile, or perhaps even The Reverend Horton Heat.
