The English rock band Led Zeppelin was active from 1968 to 1980, during which time they recorded eight studio albums.
Led Zeppelin formed after the disbandment of The Yardbirds. Guitarist Jimmy Page had joined The Yardbirds in their final days and played a crucial role on their last album. In 1967, while The Yardbirds were inactive, Page returned to session work. During this time, he collaborated with John Paul Jones on Donovan's "Hurdy Gurdy Man." Jones expressed his interest in joining any future project Page would develop. With the departure of Keith Relf and Jim McCarty from The Yardbirds in 1968, Page and bassist Chris Dreja took ownership of the band name and had an upcoming tour to fulfill. Page sought out a new vocalist and drummer, initially considering Terry Reid and B.J. Wilson but ultimately connecting with Robert Plant through Reid's suggestion.
In recognition of their influential contributions to rock music, Led Zeppelin was inducted into the Rock And Roll Hall of Fame as performers in 1995.

Rhino Records, also known as Rhino, is a renowned music label that was established in 1973 by Richard Foos. Starting as a record store in Westwood California, Rhino quickly gained recognition with its first successful release "Go To Rhino Records" by Wild Man Fischer in 1975. The label's early logo featured "Rocky the Rhino" and focused on novelty, surf, local new wave bands, and reissues of out-of-print records from other labels.

Under the guidance of Bill Inglot for production, Ken Perry for mastering, and A&R team Gary Stewart and James Austin, Rhino expanded its catalog to include a wide range of reissues by the mid-1980s. The label underwent a logo redesign during this time period to simply "Rhino". In 1984, Rhino released its first CD and became known for manufacturing high-quality CDs made by Sanyo (1984-85) and various manufacturers from Japan or Switzerland thereafter.

In 1985, Rhino entered into a distribution deal with Capitol Records which lasted until 1992. This partnership allowed access to Capitol's back catalog and led to the release of reissues of old Capitol albums. Additionally, EMI and Rhino acquired the Roulette family of labels in 1989. As their deal with Capitol came to an end in 1992, Time-Warner offered an opportunity for growth. Half of the label was sold to Time-Warner

Nearly 20 years ago, Led Zeppelin introduced BBC Sessions, an acclaimed two-disc set of live recordings selected from the band's appearances on BBC radio between 1969 and 1971. Now the band will unveil 'The Complete BBC Sessions', an updated version of the collection that's been newly remastered with supervision by Jimmy Page and expanded with eight unreleased BBC recordings, including three rescued from a previously 'lost' session from 1969. 'The Complete BBC Sessions' builds on that collection with a third disc that boasts eight unreleased performances, plus 'White Summer,' a recording that first surfaced in 1990 on the Led Zeppelin Boxed Set. In addition, the set includes extensive session-by-session liner notes written by Dave Lewis. For the first time ever, it provides accurate details and notes about all of the band's BBC sessions. Musical highlights on this new collection include the debut of a long-lost radio session that has achieved near-mythic status among fans. Originally broadcast in April 1969, the session included three songs: 'I Can't Quit You Baby,' 'You Shook Me,' and the only recorded performance of 'Sunshine Woman.' Also included are two unreleased versions of both 'Communication Breakdown' and 'What Is And What Should Never Be.'
