Rhino Records, also known as Rhino, is a renowned music label that was established in 1973 by Richard Foos. Starting as a record store in Westwood California, Rhino quickly gained recognition with its first successful release "Go To Rhino Records" by Wild Man Fischer in 1975. The label's early logo featured "Rocky the Rhino" and focused on novelty, surf, local new wave bands, and reissues of out-of-print records from other labels.

Under the guidance of Bill Inglot for production, Ken Perry for mastering, and A&R team Gary Stewart and James Austin, Rhino expanded its catalog to include a wide range of reissues by the mid-1980s. The label underwent a logo redesign during this time period to simply "Rhino". In 1984, Rhino released its first CD and became known for manufacturing high-quality CDs made by Sanyo (1984-85) and various manufacturers from Japan or Switzerland thereafter.

In 1985, Rhino entered into a distribution deal with Capitol Records which lasted until 1992. This partnership allowed access to Capitol's back catalog and led to the release of reissues of old Capitol albums. Additionally, EMI and Rhino acquired the Roulette family of labels in 1989. As their deal with Capitol came to an end in 1992, Time-Warner offered an opportunity for growth. Half of the label was sold to Time-Warner

The Replacements are an American rock band known for their influential music. Their early albums, such as "Sorry Ma, Forgot To Take Out The Trash" and the "Stink EP," were heavily influenced by American hardcore, similar to their contemporaries Hüsker Dü. As they progressed, their sound evolved to include slower tempos.
In 1986, Bob Stinson left the band and was replaced by Slim Dunlap. Internal tensions eventually led to the band's breakup in 1991. However, in 2006, the surviving members (excluding original drummer Chris Mars and the late Bob Stinson) reunited to record new tracks for a Replacements compilation.
Exciting news came on October 3rd, 2012 when it was announced that The Replacements were active again. With a rich history and enduring influence on rock music, The Replacements continue to captivate audiences with their unique sound and legacy.

In February 1986, The Replacements performed a classic live show at Maxwell’s in Hoboken, NJ. Until now, that pristine recording of the legendary performance has only been available in low-quality bootleg form. Even so, Pitchfork has called the show “a fiery, focused set that would make a true believer out of any skeptic.” For Sale: Live At Maxwell’s 1986 finally make its commercial debut as a double-LP. This marks the first live album by the band to see an official release on this format. The show at Maxwell’s would prove to be one of the last great performances by the four original members of the Replacements, a much beloved line-up including Bob Stinson on guitar, before his departure from the band in 1986. The songs they played spanned the band’s entire history while giving prominence to new material from Tim, including Bastards Of Young, Left Of The Dial and Kiss Me On The Bus. Mixed in were favourites like I Will Dare from Let It Be (1984) and Color Me Impressed from Hootenanny (1983). The original 24-track master tapes of the show sat in the Warner Music vaults until being given a proper mix in 2007, but it would still be another decade before the concert would get its official release.
