Epic

Epic Records is a record label that was launched in 1953 by CBS. It quickly became known for its bright-yellow and black logo, which became a trademark for many jazz and classical music releases. Over the years, Epic has worked with notable artists such as *Berlin Philharmonic*, *Juilliard String Quartet*, *Antal Dorati*, and *George Szell*. In the 1960s, Epic earned its first gold records and established itself as a force in rock, R&B, and country music. The label worked with popular acts like *Bobby Vinton*, *Sly and the Family Stone*, *The Dave Clark Five*, and *Donovan*. Throughout the 1970s, Epic's success continued to grow with artists like *The Hollies*, *Edgar Winter ABBA*, and *Tammy Wynette*. The label had tremendous success in the 1980s and 1990s with multi-platinum albums from artists including *Meat Loaf*,*The Jacksons*,*Sade,*Michael Jackson,*Cyndi Lauper*.
