Fat Cat is an electronica, noise, and post-rock label based in Brighton, UK. Originally a record shop in the early '90s, the label was established when the shop closed down in 1997 with support from [l311].

Renowned for their distinctive series of releases such as the "7" Series", "10" Series", "12" Series", "Splinter Series", "Remix Series", and "E-RMX Series," Fat Cat has left a significant mark on the music industry. For more instrumental orchestral-type releases, they also operate a sublabel called [l=130701], named after its inception date: 13 July 2001.

With numerous notable artists under their belt, Fat Cat Records continues to be at the forefront of cutting-edge music production and distribution.

Scottish indie rock band Frightened Rabbit was founded in 2003 in Selkirk and later based in Glasgow. The band sadly disbanded in 2018 following the tragic death of lead vocalist Scott Hutchison. 

The current line-up consisted of Grant Hutchison on drums and percussion, Billy Kennedy on bass guitar, guitar, keyboards, and backing vocals, Andy Monaghan on guitar, keyboards, and bass guitar, and Simon Liddell on guitar. Guitarist Gordon Skene joined as a touring member in 2013 before becoming an official member in 2015.

Frightened Rabbit's music showcased their unique blend of indie rock with emotionally charged lyrics. Despite their disbandment, their legacy continues to resonate with fans worldwide.

An unconventional three-piece with a defined personality, and a gift for being able to nail a near perfect pop song, Frightened Rabbit convey candid tales of ordinary folk with a wry, acerbic wit via an eloquent, emotive, modern garage-pop aesthetic. Recorded by Peter Katis (Mercury Rev, Interpol) over the space of two weeks, and mixed over the ensuing fortnight, Midnight Organ Fight was conceived and realised in a much shorter time span than its predecessor, with the intention of creating a more coherent, 'pop' sounding album.
