Neil Young is a Canadian-American singer-songwriter and musician known for his solo releases, collaborations with other artists, and his activism on environmental and political issues. He plays guitar, keyboards, and harmonica. Born in Toronto, Canada in 1945, Young currently holds dual citizenship for Canada and the United States. He has been living in California since the sixties. In 1995, he was inducted into the Rock And Roll Hall of Fame as a performer. Despite facing delays due to his marijuana use, Young successfully became a United States citizen.
Young's musical career spans several decades and genres including folk rock, country rock, and grunge. As an influential figure in the music industry, he has released numerous critically acclaimed albums both as a solo artist and with various bands such as Crosby Stills Nash & Young (CSNY).
In addition to his musical pursuits, Neil Young also runs Vapor Records - an independent record label that supports emerging artists. His passion for environmental causes led him to co-found Farm Aid - an annual benefit concert that raises funds for family farmers.

Warner Bros. Records, founded in 1958 by Jack Warner, started as a soundtrack factory for Warner Bros. movie studios. Over the years, it has evolved into a renowned label with subsidiary labels like Reprise Records, Sire Records, Maverick Records, Warner Nashville, Warner Jazz, Warner Western, and Word Label Group. With more than 60 years of experience in the industry and an impressive roster of artists across various genres, Warner Bros. has become a leading name in the music world.

The label has used several pressing facilities including *Capitol Records* and *Columbia Pressings*. Throughout its history, Warner Bros. has had different label designs for mono LPs and stereo LPs. From grey labels with black WB Shield to gold labels with Vitaphonic Long Play or Stereo wording at the bottom; from green labels featuring the W7 logo to palm trees labels without any address mentioned; and finally transitioning to tan labels with narrow horizontal lines before settling on white labels with large WB shield and ghosted gray shields floating in the background since 1983.

To determine first pressings of US LPs on this label, collectors can look out for specific details such as color variations on the label design or Saul Bass W logo on sleeves introduced after 1975. The presence or absence of certain addresses on palm trees labels also helps identify different pressings over time.

Neil Young opens his archive and releases Hitchhiker, an unreleased new studio album. The 10-track acoustic solo album was recorded in Malibu, CA at Indigo Studio in 1976. The original session was produced by Young’s long-time studio collaborator David Briggs. Recorded between Zuma and American Stars and Bars as a solo album in a single session, the resultant performances are truly breathtaking and passionate. The simplicity of a single voice and guitar captured here is as pure and powerful as it gets, with only Young, Briggs and actor Dean Stockwell in the room at the time of recording. A few of the songs would not appear on vinyl until years later. Some have never been heard, included in the original sessions for Neil Young and Crazy Horse’s Dume, another unreleased record of original sessions that yielded the classic album, Zuma. When the Hitchhiker album was recorded, none of the included songs had ever been released and many of the performances of the songs were the first ever. This is truly an album of original performances.
