Fat Cat is an electronica, noise, and post-rock label based in Brighton, UK. Originally a record shop in the early '90s, the label was established when the shop closed down in 1997 with support from [l311].

Renowned for their distinctive series of releases such as the "7" Series", "10" Series", "12" Series", "Splinter Series", "Remix Series", and "E-RMX Series," Fat Cat has left a significant mark on the music industry. For more instrumental orchestral-type releases, they also operate a sublabel called [l=130701], named after its inception date: 13 July 2001.

With numerous notable artists under their belt, Fat Cat Records continues to be at the forefront of cutting-edge music production and distribution.

The Twilight Sad are a post-punk/indie rock band from Kilsyth, Scotland. Formed in 2003, the band consists of James Alexander Graham (vocals), Andy MacFarlane (guitar), Mark Devine (drums; 2003-2018), and Craig Orzel (bass; 2003-2010). Their debut album was released in April 2007 and received widespread acclaim for its thick Scottish vocals and dense sonic walls of shoegazing guitar. They have since released several albums, each showcasing their unique sound influenced by folk and noise.

With each album release, The Twilight Sad has evolved stylistically. Their second album showcased more personal lyrics and darker, streamlined music. In February 2012, they took another stylistic shift with industrial music and krautrock influences for a sparser sound. Despite these changes, the band consistently injects real emotion and dynamic excitement into their music.

Currently consisting of Graham, MacFarlane, Johnny Docherty (bass), Brendan Smith (keyboards) and Sebastien Schultz (drums), The Twilight Sad continues to create captivating music. Their latest album was released in January 2019, further solidifying their reputation as a band that brings depth to the indie rock genre.

The Twilight Sad release Nobody Wants To Be Here And Nobody Wants To Leave via FatCat. Their anticipated fourth studio album follows the release of 2012's No One Can Ever Know. Where each album prior to Nobody Wants To Be Here And Nobody Wants To Leave saw the Twilight Sad tackling new sounds and ways of writing, their latest work draws from their entire career. "Over the eight years we've been touring, our live sound has taken on different forms, from full on noise / feedback, to a sparse, synth led sound, to a stripped back set up with just keys, drum machine and guitar, to playing with an orchestra, and to just an acoustic with vocal," says MacFarlane. "We wanted to try and capture all of those elements and develop them in some way to make the new record." Opting to stay in Glasgow, the album was produced at Mogwai's Castle Of Doom studio, engineered by live soundman Andrew Bush, mixed by Peter Katis (also responsible for Fourteen Autumns), with touring member Johnny Docherty playing bass.
