Jackpot Records, started in 2004, operates as a reissue label featuring albums and bands that have been seminal within their respective genres as well as interesting new releases of various genres. Care is paid to giving each album the most authentic and true-to-form representation, with all recordings taken from the original master tapes whenever possible.

Jackpot Records began in 1997 in Portland, Oregon as an independent retailer set on getting music into the hands and ears of the people who love it. Opened by owner Isaac Slusarenko, Jackpot Records was founded on the idea that the music matters, offering a wide selection of both new and used CDs, LPs, DVDs and other collectibles. In 2001, a second location was opened in downtown Portland.

Jackpot Records enjoys giving back to the community that supports it by offering free, all ages in-store performances, signings and meet-n-greets, as well as an annual film festival that centers on music-related cinema.

Wipers was a recording project formed in late 1978 by Greg Sage in Portland, Oregon. Originally planned as a studio project, their goal was to release fifteen LPs over ten years while avoiding tours and interviews. They disbanded in 1989 after releasing six studio albums but later reformed in 1993 to release three more albums. Finally disbanding for good in 1999.

Simply obliterating any conception of the Wipers as a mere punk band, Greg Sage released this follow-up to Is This Real? in 1981 - a sophisticated, overwhelming response to the evil times marked by the turn of the decade. Broken up into six long songs, Youth of America is a much colder, harrowing experience than the teen angst of their debut. Vocally, Sage comes off as sleep-deprived and forsaken, snarling not only at his own predicament but at the predicament of the entire world. The centerpiece of the album is the title track, a dire ten minutes of paranoia and angst that gave Sage the space to showcase his wildest, darkest playing yet.
